Local churches to hold holiday bazaars, events
Several local churches have special holiday bazaars and craft shows planned for the coming weeks, including:
Holiday Bazaar at Trinity Lutheran Church fellowship room with chicken and dumplings lunch, crafts, baked goods, jewelry, glassware and collectibles, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3.
Winter Wonderland of Treasures sale at St. Denis Parish Center in Benton, Mo., from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3. There will be booths with crafts, jewelry, food items, homemade soup and desserts.
Annual cookie walk at Grace United Methodist Church, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 10. Features crafts and sweets.
Bethlehem -- Village of Hope at Delta First Baptist Church, a walk-through Christmas drama from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2, 3 and 4.
Cafe La Croix at La Croix United Methodist Church, 7 p.m. Dec. 1, 7 and 10 p.m. Dec. 2, 8 p.m. Dec. 3.
Festival of Lessons and Carols at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, featuring the church's adult choir, 4 p.m. Dec. 4.

Crystal River Boys from Knoxville, Tenn., will be at First General Baptist Church in Jackson at the 8:30 and 10:40 a.m. services.
Revival service at Cape Bible Missionary Church, 7 p.m. nightly through Dec. 4 with evangelist John Young.
Gospel services at 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Senior Center, 921 Clark Ave.
Season of giving
Adopt-a-Child: Lynwood Baptist Church asks for gift donations or children. For more information, call Gloria Tyler at 204-1560.
Holiday food baskets: Donations are needed to purchase hams and other food items at Lynwood Baptist Church.
Ministry on the river: First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau is collecting bags of individually wrapped hard candy for barge workers at Christmas.
FISH canned goods collection: Trinity Lutheran Church is collecting canned goods for the local FISH food pantry through the end of December.
Collection for Safe House: Beginning Dec. 4, First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau will collect items for the Safe House for Women, including detergent, paper products, pre-paid phone cards, pajamas and backpacks.
