Lynn Harper, a 2002 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, was recently awarded a Samuel and Sarah Wait Graduate Fellowship in theology and ministry at Wake Forest University Divinity School.

Harper was one of three students who received the award, which covers the cost of tuition and fees and is renewable for up to three years.

Trinity Church anniversary to feature special event

Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau will mark its 150th anniversary with a special dinner following services on Nov. 30. Speaker is the Rev. Steven MacDougall, who served as associate pastor from 1993 to 1996.

The church is observing its sesquicentennial throughout the year.

New Wells church invites guest speaker

Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells has invited the Rev. Keith Wachter as guest speaker during its worship service Nov. 30. The church is observing its 150th anniversary throughout the year. The theme for this service is mission work. A potluck lunch will be served after the service.
