Jackson ministerial alliance holds week of prayer

The Jackson Ministerial Alliance will hold a week of prayer for Christian unity Jan. 16 through 22. The week will include two sets of worship services, a daily devotional service and a Sunday celebration service. The celebration service will take place at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 at Immaculate Conception. Daily devotional services will be held at First Presbyterian Church with speakers from various Jackson churches.

Study group at Centenary will examine the major religions

A study of three major religions -- Christianity, Judaism and Islam -- will begin this month at Centenary United Methodist Church. Participants will learn the facts, the differences and the similarities between the religions. Resource speakers from the community will bring additional insight. The six-week course begins Jan. 19 and ends Feb. 23. For more information or to sign up, call the church at 334-2869.
