Registration for the Holiday of Lights lighting contest and driving tour is under way.
Forms are available at Schnucks, Plaza Galleria, the Chamber of Commerce and other Cape Girardeau businesses.
All forms must be received at the Chamber of Commerce office no later than Dec. 3. On Dec. 6, the chamber's Beautification Committee will judge the homes and businesses that have entered.
The map of a route including as many of the winning homes, decorated neighborhoods and businesses as possible will be made available by Dec. 9 and will be published in the Southeast Missourian.
All homes and businesses on the tour will be asked to have their outdoor lights burning from 7-9 on tour nights, Dec. 9-11.
Anyone who wants to enter the contest but prefers not to be on the driving tour can indicate so on the entry form.
Five buses will take the tour each night, departing from Plaza Galleria at 7 p.m. and returning at 8 p.m. The bus tours also will go through Cape County Park.
Tickets to ride the buses are $1. They can be purchased in advance at Schnucks beginning Dec. 3 and at Plaza Galleria on the tour days.
The Christmas Ice Show will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Plaza Gallery.
For more information, phone the chamber office at 335-3312.
