The Southeast Missouri State University chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority received the Good Neighbor Award.

The American Red Cross has 34 chapters and more than 15,000 volunteers in Missouri. Each year, Red Cross chapters respond to more than 2,300 home fires and other single-family disasters; they train over 100,000 people in first aid and CPR and over 90,000 in swimming and water safety. They also provide emergency communications to more than 7,000 military personnel and their families.
