St. Louis woman hurt in rollover on Interstate 55
A St. Louis woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident 10 miles north of Fruitland on Interstate 55 Friday evening. Stacey Stewart, 40, was northbound on the interstate in Cape Girardeau County in 2004 Jeep when she lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the median. Stewart was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center.
Two injured when semi rear-ended on I-55
BENTON, Mo. -- A vehicle collided with the back of a semi on Interstate 55 near Benton early Saturday, sending two to a local hospital. Adriane Smith, 20, of House Springs, Mo., was five miles from Benton when his vehicle struck the back of a northbound tractor-trailer driven by James Carpenter, 37, of Shepherdsville, Ky., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. Smith and a passenger, 21-year-old Harvey Jacobs of Dittmer, Mo., were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center.
Police: Shooter at plant after man who fired him
EARTH CITY, Mo. -- A 48-year-old man who opened fire at a suburban St. Louis factory where he formerly worked was targeting the boss who had fired him, police said in court records. Pelayo Errasti of St. Louis was charged on Friday with three counts each of armed criminal action and assault. He was ordered held without bail. One person -- not the former boss -- was wounded in what became a seven-hour standoff with police Thursday.
