Junior high will hold back-to-school night
Cape Girardeau Central Junior High School will hold a back-to-school night at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. A short meeting will be held in the auditorium before parents will be invited to follow an abbreviated schedule of their students' school day. School officials said parents can meet the teachers, visit classrooms and tour the building.
The Neighborhood Connections group will hold a historic pride walk at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2 and Sept. 9 before Tunes at Twilight. Volunteers will give brief tours of the Common Pleas Courthouse, the Southeast Missourian building, the Royal N'Orleans and the Harrison home. Interested people can meet at the fountain in the courthouse park or they can go directly to the buildings, where a volunteer will give a brief history and do not have to wait for a tour. For more information, call 651-4567.
