Missouri moves execution site east

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- Missouri will move all future executions to a prison in Bonne Terre, starting with the scheduled April 27 execution of convicted killer Donald Jones, Department of Corrections officials said Tuesday. Sixty-one other executions were carried out at the Potosi Correctional Center, about 25 miles west of Bonne Terre.

Cape flooring company reports fire Tuesday

Cape Girardeau and Scott City firefighters responded to a report of a fire at HAVCO Wood Products Tuesday night. Cape Girardeau fire officials said that initial reports showed a motor had caught fire in one of the company's silos close to 10 p.m. The company, near Interstate 55 and Airport Road, manufactures laminated oak flooring.
