Area day care holding open house Thursday

Korner Kampus Day Care and PreK 2, 3, 4, 5 will have an open house between 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 624 S. Ellis St. The public is invited to come see the center and get information on Spanish, ballet and karate classes. Light refreshments will be served.

Cape band playing at Capaha Park today

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will play its weekly Concert in the Park at 8 p.m. today at the Capaha Park band shell. The band is conducted by Ronald Nall and will feature special entertainment by Sara and Catherine Goeke. Selections this week include "Tropic to Tropic March," "Ozark Overture," "A Trumpeter's Lullaby" with a solo by Marc Fulgham, "Walt Disney Overture" and selections from "Annie." In case of rain the concert will be held in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
