2 injured in crash on Route AB

A traffic crash on Route AB sent two people to the hospital Tuesday morning. Shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday, Carol R. Burk, 47, of Cape Girardeau was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger west on Route AB a mile west of Cape Girardeau when she crossed the centerline and hit a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado driven by 41-year-old Keith A. Stroup of Bloomfield, Missouri, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. Burk, who was not using a safety device, was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries. Stroup was taken by private vehicle to Saint Francis Medical Center with minor injuries. Both vehicles were totaled and were towed from the scene, the patrol reported.

Benton woman hurt in one-car accident

A Benton, Missouri, woman suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Scott County. Erica N. Brown, 21, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am west on County Road 250 half a mile west of Benton when she ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the roadway and ended up in a ditch, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. Brown was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which totaled the car, the patrol reported. She was taken by ambulance to Southeast Hospital.

Rear-end collision sends 2 to hospital

Two people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries Tuesday night after a rear-end collision on Interstate 55 in Scott County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported. Natasha A. Lee, 37, and Scipio L. Williamson, 22, both of Sikeston, Missouri, were taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston after the crash. Lee and Williamson were passengers in a southbound 1998 Infiniti I30 driven by Andreneik S. Hill, 33, also of Sikeston. A 1999 Dodge Dakota driven by Ali-Amro A. Eltoukhy, 22, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, struck the Infiniti from behind near mile marker 83.8 about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, the patrol reported. Hill and Eltoukhy were not hurt. Everyone involved in the crash was using a safety device, the patrol reported.
