Several students have received Regents' Scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1997-98 academic year.

The Regents' Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who have achieved an Enhanced ACT score or 27 or SAT score of 1220. Students must also have a high school grade-point average of 3.5 or graduate in the top 10 percent of their class. High school valedictorians who have an Enhanced ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1140 also are eligible for the scholarships, as are National Merit Semifinalists and National Achievement Semifinalists. The award covers incidental fees up to 32 hours per academic year for up to four consecutive years.

The following are recipients of this scholarship.

Rachel L. Craft of Jackson, a senior at Jackson High School and daughter of Fred and Julia Craft of Jackson.

Douglas M. Simmons of Cape Girardeau, a senior at Central High School and son of Steve and Kay Simmons of Cape Girardeau.

Jeffrey C. Kroenung of Cape Girardeau, a senior at Central High School and son of Glenn and Barbara Kroenung of Cape Girardeau.

Vijay N. Dahiya of Cape Girardeau, a senior at Central High School and son of Dr. Jai and Leela Dahiya of Cape Girardeau.

Jeremy W. Smith of Scott City, a senior at Scott City High School and son of Sharon Smith of Scott City and the late Felix Smith.

Danielle N. Pierce of Scott City, senior at Scott City High School and daughter of Mike and Bonnie Pierce of Cape Girardeau and Trish and Dave Seabaugh of Scott City.

Daniel P. Buerck of Cape Girardeau, a senior at Notre Dame High School and son of Randy and Susan Buerck of Cape Girardeau.

Kyle T. Elfrink of Cape Girardeau, a senior at Notre Dame High School and son of Delwin and Theresa Elfrink of Cape Girardeau.
