Rediger garnered 76.05 percent of the vote, compared to opponent Walter White's 23.03 percent.

"It's very rewarding to have the confidence of our citizens to do another four years," said Rediger. "We have a lot of things going on, and I'm very positive as we move ahead with the new council and new energy."

In Ward 1, Joseph Uzoaru will replace term-limited councilman John Voss.

"I'm excited," he said. "Cape has a great future ahead of it, and I'm honored to be part of that process."

Moore said she was speechless after receiving the news.

"I'm happy [the voters] chose me and I will do everything in my power to bring about the needed changes in our community and the city of Cape," she said. "I'm greatly appreciative of the voters."

Uzoaru and Moore will officially join council when they are sworn in Monday afternoon.

Wayne Bowen will continue to represent Ward 6, where he ran unopposed.
