In conjunction with the National Blood Donor month of January there are two blood drives scheduled in Cape Girardeau during the next week.

The American Red Cross and Cape Naval Reserve are sponsoring a blood drive on Saturday, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. in the Naval Reserve Drill Hall at 2530 Marie Louise Lane.

The second drive is being sponsored by the American Red Cross and Southeast Missouri State Univeristy. It will be held on Jan. 28 and 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom and also 11 a.m. to 3:30 at Geronimo's in the Towers Complex.

To be eligible to donate blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years of age. You can safely donate blood every eight weeks.
