RED CROSS HONORS SERVICE VOLUNTEERS

The American Red Cross in Cape Girardeau has honored volunteers who help provide service to military families.

Those honored include Shelly Dalrymple, Nancy Trexler, Elaine Jackson, Marilyn Huttegger, Charles Woodford, Mike Kruetter, Mike Hyson, Shawn Swift, Ben Shell, Palmi Harris and Tom Lett.

The program provides a communication link between military persons and their families at home for emergencies like births, deaths, illnesses or injuries.

From July 1991 to February 1992, 167 families locally have been assisted. The Red Cross has also provided $12,616 in loans to service personnel.
