The city of Cape Girardeau solid-waste task force and solid-waste division of public works have developed an informational video on recycling and solid waste.
The 15-minute video is a guide to recycling for schools to use in their educational programs. The solid-waste task force members solicited donations from various organizations to help fund the development of the video.
The video will be distributed to area schools and libraries. Members of the solid-waste task force are available for presentations to clubs and organizations in Cape Girardeau. For more information and scheduling call the Cape Girardeau public works at 334-9151.
Public Works celebrated National Public Works Week. A booth was set up at Food Giant. Volunteers from each division of public works -- street, fleet, water, airport, stormwater/sewer maintenance, wastewater treatment and solid waste -- were available to answer questions and distribute information.
