CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Carl Curry, broker, and sales associates Phyllis Johnson and LaWanda Werner, of Century 21 Dutch Realty, recently attended the international convention of Century 21 Real Estate Corp., held at Las Vegas.

More than 10,000 brokers and sales associates from the U.S., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom and other countries attended the four-day event.

The group attended skill-building sessions designed to increase productivity and customer service.

Peter Ueberroth, a businessman who formerly served as chairman of the U.S. Olympic Organizing Committee in 1984, and as a commissioner of Major League Baseball, was keynote speaker. Singer Pat Boone presented a special tribute acknowledging Century 21's position as top corporate sponsor of the charity.

Century 21, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Life, has almost 7,000 independently owned and operated offices in nine countries. An estimated $65 billion worth of real estate was sold last year by members in the Century 21 system.
