Larry DeWitt of Sikeston will speak at the June general membership meeting of the Regional Commerce and Growth Association 6:30 p.m. June 12 at the Holiday Inn Oak Room in Cape Girardeau.
The meeting is open to the public. A social hour sponsored by Mid-America Distributors will precede the meeting at 5:30.
DeWitt manufactures a variety of heavy duty fabrics for outdoor use. Shade cloth made by his company, DeWitt Co. Inc. of Sikeston, was used in the Persian Gulf War to cover troops and equipment. The company manufactures other shade cloth, weed barriers, thermal blankets for plants, and protective coverings for newly-sewn lawns.
DeWitt will speak on how his company developed to the point of international trade level.
