SIKESTON - State Auditor Margaret Kelly will speak Thursday at a general membership meeting of the Regional Commerce and Growth Association hosted by the First National Bank in Sikeston.

Kelly will talk about the operations of her office and how it relates to the business community.

Thursday's meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social period. The bank is on the corner of Main and Malone in Sikeston.

RCGA general membership meetings are held in different communities around the region.

Kelly was appointed state auditor by former Gov. Christopher Bond, making her the first woman ever to hold statewide office in Missouri. She was re-elected to the post in 1986 and 1990, and is Missouri's 33rd state auditor.

She is a CPA with 20 years of experience with accounting firms in Springfield, Columbia, and Jefferson City. Prior to her appointment as state auditor, she was serving as auditor of Cole County.
