INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Joe Pesci had more to celebrate than just Thanksgiving, as a horse named after the actor romped to an 8 1/2-length victory at Hollywood Park. Pesci, a 3-year-old filly making her first start, was entered Thursday in a six furlong race for maidens. The two-legged Pesci, who co-owns the horse with trainer Wesley Ward, was pleased about the win.

Punk rock legend gets name on NYC street

NEW YORK -- Joey Ramone's name will grace a street corner near the East Village club that the trailblazing Ramones helped turn into a punk rock destination. The corner of Second Street and Bowery near the legendary CBGBs will be christened "Joey Ramone Place" for the band's lead singer, who died of cancer in 2001 at 49.
