Ray E. Kester, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 16, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Nov. 28, 1917, at Kurreville, son of Bennett and Carrie Avis Kester.
On Sept. 16, 1944, he married the former Eliza Suhr. She preceded him in death Aug. 7, 1990.
He worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital from 1958 to 1978 and at Lenco from 1978 until his retirement in 1980.
He attended Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson and moved to Cape Girardeau in 1980 from the Millersville area.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Thrower of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Fate Kester of Millersville and John "Bud" Kester of Cape Girardeau; a half-brother, John "Red" Kester of Millersville; a sister, Mabel Criddle of Cape Girardeau; a half-sister, Juanita Moore of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Burial will be at Old Salem Cemetery at Millersville.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m.
