Ratliff Nursing Home has taken on a new look.
The nursing home is in its new quarters at 717 N. Sprigg. Construction of the 16,500-square-foot structure was completed last year.
Service at the nursing home, which has 46 beds, was not interrupted during construction. The new building is adjacent to it older facility.
"Once the new building was intact, the older facility was demolished to make way for a new parking lot," said Carlos E. Ratliff. "We put in 14 new parking spaces, which gives us a total of 26 spaces."
The Ratliffs Carlos E. and Emmagene purchased an existing nursing home in 1965.
"It was formerly the Rose Hill Nursing Home," said Ratliff. "We operated the business in its old facility until last year."
Ratliff announced plans for a new building in November 1991. Architect for the building was Charles J. Herbst and the contractor was Sides Construction Co. of Jackson.
Ratliff said: "We moved into the new building in September. Since then the old building was razed and the new parking lot installed."
The new structure also houses Ratliff Accounting and Tax Service.
