A helper at Save-A-Lot
I'd like to thank Raymond Wulfers, a worker at Save-A-Lot in Cape Girardeau. He's always so nice to everybody. He helps people with their groceries and always has a smile for everyone. I'd also like to thank the store, who allows him to be of help.
Thanks, Councilman
A big "Thank You" to Melvin Gateley, councilman of Cape Girardeau, for the beautiful roses that are blooming over by the Mississippi Bridge. The roses are now taking over since the jonquils in that same flower area have ended their yearly blooming period. It's a very pretty "greeting" to the people who come across the bridge into Cape Girardeau. Thank you, Councilman.
Friends indeed
During the three months of February, March and April, both of us were incapacitated because of injuries and surgeries. A number of people were a tremendous help to us. Being elderly, in our seventies and eighties, we could not have survived without them. We give special thanks to the following, listed last names alphabetically: Brenda Bender, Wayne and Wendy Fitzpatrick, Mary Gibson, Alice Hess, Wayne and Judi Holcomb, Betty Nanna, Lynda Ratliff, Verla Shaw, Becky Tolleson, Lori Vavak, Pastor Jeff and Abby Williams, Ron and Nila Wright and John and Barbara Yallaly. Signed Haydn and Norma Fox.
Do and Tell
Hanover Lutheran Sunday School in Cape Girardeau is participating this year with the theme "Do and Tell." Students will be encouraged to do random acts of kindness at home, school and in the community. Time will be set aside each Sunday for children to share their acts of kindness. Some teachers will have specific projects on Sunday morning to show kindness to the community and their church family. Students will be focusing on Jesus and his acts of kindness in word and deed when he was here.
Building on thanks
To an anonymous Cape Girardeau construction worker: On Tuesday night, May 9, two college kids from New Madrid were on their way home for the summer when they had a flat tire south of Perryville on I-55. You were kind enough to stop and help them change that tire. Your thoughtfulness and kindness is very much appreciated. It is heartwarming to know that some people still care enough to help. Thank you. A Dad and Mom.
A grateful family
I would like to thank two gentlemen, Bryan Kiefer, a pharmacist at the Healing Arts Pharmacy, and Richard Rehkopf, a neighbor, who have gone out of their way to help my parents, who have been ill the past few weeks. Mr. Rehkopf has cut their grass and helped out around the House. When my mom got stuck at the doctor's office and my dad was uable to get her, Mr. Keifer drove her home. He then saw my dad was ill and took him to the emergency room. The Dunn family is very grateful to these two men.
