Holly Dirnberger, 10, of Oran, won first place in her age category in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Over 2,300 entries were received.
The contest was sponsored by the Missouri Conservation Department, the Greater Lake Area Arts Council and the Fish and Wildlife Service.
Dirnberger has been a student at Cleda Curtis Art School in Oran for two years. Last December she had a solo show of 10 paintings done in watercolor, oil and pastel at the First Financial Bank of SEMO in Oran.
She is a fourth-grade student at Guardian Angel School and daughter of Mike and Carol Dirnberger.
