UNDATED (AP) -- Rivers and creeks across much of central and Southern Illinois are high and rising, creating minor flooding.
The National Weather Service says weekend rain and runoff from melted snow and ice is leading to problems along the Illinois River near Peoria and on the Wabash River along the Indiana-Illinois state line.
Minor flooding is also reported on parts of the Rock River in northwestern Illinois.
The weather service says the Illinois River should rise out of its banks in the Peoria area Monday and stay there until late this week.
Forecasters, however, say the weather shouldn't make matters worse this week. Dry weather is expected across most of Illinois until late Thursday or Friday.
