JACKSON -- Only two races will face voters in Jackson next week, while in Delta, citizens will elect two school board members from a field of six candidates.

In Jackson, the only aldermanic race is in Ward 4, where two newcomers, Rodney Ladreiter and Fred Leimer, are running for the seat now held by Alderman LeRoy Brown. Brown will retire from the board of aldermen next week.

Leimer is a co-owner and operator of Leimer and Wessell Construction Co. Ladreiter is a Jackson businessman.

Ward 1 Alderman David Ludwig, Ward 2 Alderman David Reiminger and Ward 3 Alderman Glenn Oldham are unopposed for re-election to another term.

The other Jackson race is for the two seats on the Jackson Board of Education. The candidates are incumbents Jack H. Knowlan Jr. and Larry Koenig, and challenger Ken Callis.

Knowlan is seeking his fourth term on the school board. He is now the chief administrative law judge with the Division of Workmen's Compensation.

Koenig is also seeking a fourth term on the school board. The former Jackson police chief is now personnel director and officer manager for the city of Jackson.
