Award-winning quilter Irma Gale Hatcher will present a trunk show and workshop this weekend.

The trunk show will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and the workshop is scheduled all day Saturday. Both the show and the workshop are open to the public and will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis.

The show is sponsored by River Heritage Quilter's Guild.

Most recently her "Irish Eyes" quilt took top honors in its category at the American Quilters Society show in Paducah, Ky.

The same quilt was exhibited at an inaugural reception in Washington, D.C., for President Clinton.

The trunk show will include most of Hatcher's award-winning quilts. She will share techniques used in making them.

A $1 admission will be charged for the show.

A few openings are still available for the day-long workshop Saturday. Workshop participants will make a miniature quilt. For information, call 334-6786 or 651-0780.
