ST. LOUIS The 1991 Queeny Pops season opens July 2. Highlights of the season include Theodore Bikel, Ben Vereen, Helen Reddy, The Andrew Lloyd Webber Generation and The Glenn Miller Sound.
Discount prices are available to groups of 20 or more who attend the concerts, held at the air-conditioned Greensfelder Recreation Center in Queeny Park.
"Yankee Doodle Hayman" with Richard Hayman, conductor, and Sgt. Robert Ellison, vocalist, will appear July 2-4.
Other scheduled performers are: "Some Enchanted Evening" with Hayman and Theodore Bikel, July 5-6; "Bernstein on Broadway" with Andre Raphel Smith, conductor, July 9-11; "Dixieland Revue" with Smith, July 12-13; "Music of the Night: The Andrew Lloyd Webber Generation," Hayman, conductor, July 16-20; "In the Mood: The Glenn Miller Sound," July 23-25; "He's the Tops: Classic Cole," July 26-27; and "Pops Goes Boston," July 30-Aug. 1.
Other August shows include "Tap Your Troubles Away," Aug. 2-3; "Ben Vereen at the Pops," Aug. 6-8; and "Helen Reddy at the Pops," Aug. 9-10.
