Purdue University professor Randy Roberts will discuss World War II at the second annual Veryl L. Riddle Distinguished History Lecture at Southeast Missouri State University.
The lecture is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in the University Center Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.
Roberts' lecture will focus on "Stories and Images from the Great War." His presentation will include video and film footage, photographs and sound clips from the war.
Roberts has authored 23 books and more than 50 articles and book chapters about America in the 19th and 20th centuries. His work has twice been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
He has written about World War II, Vietnam, sports figures and Hollywood. In 1995, his book on the black prizefighter, Jack Johnson, won him the Pat and Ray Browne National Book Award.
