CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Zonnya White, a 1987 graduate of Cape Central High School, has been named to the Purdue University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
The society, founded in 1897, recognizes superior scholarship in all academic disciplines. Membership is limited to juniors who rank in the upper 5 percent of their class and senior who rank in the upper 10 percent of their class.
White is a junior at Purdue majoring in industrial engineering. She has been a presidential scholar every semester. She is in the five-year cooperative education program whereby students after their freshman year work at a company. White's co-op work program has been with Texas Instruments in Dallas.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob White of Cape Girardeau.
