The state transportation agency will host public meetings from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott City High School Cafeteria and the same time on Thursday at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. At the meetings MoDOT employees will be prepared to answer questions about a traffic study of the I-55 corridor between Scott City and Fruitland completed this spring. That study found that the stretch of I-55 between the Route 74 interchange in Cape Girardeau and the Scott City interchange is likely headed toward congestion problems in the near future.

Part of the meetings will also include discussion of the Ramsey Creek Bridge project -- an outer road extension project in Scott City -- said MoDOT Project Manager Eric Krapf in an agency press release.
