Cape Girardeau County's temporary planning commission will hold six public meetings on the county planning issue on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Voters will be asked to approve county planning, which would clear the way for the Cape Girardeau County Commission to implement planning and zoning regulations.

The first meeting is at 7 tonight at the elementary school at Millersville, Mo. The others are at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cape County Administrative Building in Jackson, Mo.; at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau; at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the high school at Delta, Mo.; at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at Oak Ridge School in Oak Ridge, Mo.; and at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at the elementary school at Fruitland, Mo.

Roger Arnzen, director of county mapping, said the county commission expects to have at least one of its members at each meeting.

Arnzen said the temporary planning commission wants to educate the voters about the ballot issue and obtain input from them on any changes they would like to see in the proposed regulations.
