Proposition B, an education tax proposal on the Nov. 5 ballot, will be the topic of an Oct. 17 video presentation at Edward D. Jones & Co., a securities investment company, 1749 Independence Square.

"The purpose of the broadcast, which will start at 3:45 p.m., is to provide Missourians an opportunity to learn more about this major issue which will be on the Nov. 5 ballot," say Joe and Donna Domian, local representation for St. Louis-based Edward D. Jones & Co.

"Proposition B is an important issue," said Joe Domian. "We have the ability to provide live television programming to about 100 Missouri communities, and we felt it was critical that we sponsor a forum where the issue can be thoroughly discussed."

The broadcast will include presentations from Gov. John Ashcroft; Richard Mahoney, chairman of Monsanto; Henry Bloch, chairman of H & R Block; David Glass, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores; and David Kemper, chairman and CEO of Commerce Bank.

Also included will be a live question-and-answer session with Dr. Charles McClain, commissioner of higher education; Joe Denney, deputy commissioner of education, and Carol Gamble, president of the Missouri School Board Association.

The program will be moderated by John W. Bachmann, managing principal of the Jones firms, which has more than 1,700 branch offices in 48 states, including 96 in Missouri.

The participants will explain the purpose, and tax implications of the issue, and will answer any questions participants may have.
