Jay Asbell and Chuck Thurman have been appointed as shift coordinators at Dana Corp.

Dave Blanchard, plant manager of the Cape Girardeau Dana facility, announced the promotions last week.

Asbell has been with Dana since March 1990, and Thurman has been with the firm since April 1990.

The facility at Cape Girardeau, which employs 147 persons working a three-shift operation, manufactures center sections for axle assemblies.

A newly created post and a promotion have been announced by Health Services Corporation of America (HSCA), headquartered in Cape Girardeau.

Dan Skalecki has assumed the newly created sales post, vice president of sales.

Dale Wright has been promoted to vice president and sales manager for the eastern United States.

Tom Jamieson, HSCA president, announced both Skalecki's and Wright's appointments.

Skalecki will direct the firm's national sales operation and manage a sales force that includes two vice presidents and sales managers, regional vice presidents, territory managers and corporate affiliates in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Skalecki had been acting as HSCA's vice president and sales manager for the eastern United States, heading the company's sales operation in a 21-state area. He has 19 years of experience in the health care industry and joined HSCA in 1988.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy. He is a member of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.

Skalecki, his wife, Joyce, and children, Lynn, 10, and Andy, 8, reside in Cape Girardeau.

Wright's new responsibilities include overseeing sales activities in 21 states. He has been in the health care industry since 1970 and with HSCA seven years. He most re~cent~ly served as regional vice president over an 11-state region.

He previously worked as regional sales manager for Fox Meyer Hospital Supply, St. Louis; marketing manager for American Hospital Supply, Evanston, Ill; and materials manager at Mineral Area Hospital at Farmington and Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla.

Wright holds a business management degree from Mineral Area College.

Wright, a native of Farmington, and his wife, Denise, are parents of five children, Andrea, 18; Aaron, 16; Stephanie, 13; Joel, 9; and Benjamin, 3. They will reside in Cape Girardeau.

HSCA, founded in 1969, is one of the oldest and largest shared service organizations, meeting needs of more than 2,000 member health care facilities.
