The Project Impact Education and Public Outreach Committee will present an informational display on public health today at Center Court in West Park Mall.
The display will be set up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The display will include a disaster preparedness kit, along with a list of supplies and cost figures.
Project Impact is the Federal Emergency Management Agency's national initiative to help communities develop their own prevention and loss reduction programs.
The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency chose Cape Girardeau as the 1998 model community. The city was recognized for its efforts in February.
The subcommittee wants to raise the public awareness of natural hazards and publicize measures that can be taken to improve disaster preparedness, said Tracey Glenn, the city's public information officer.
