The Southeast Missourian publishes with today's newspaper the 1993 Progress Edition.
The annual publication is a benchmark for the region's achievements. It was first published in the Southeast Missourian in 1937.
This year's Progress Edition takes the theme "Then and Now," lending itself to the observance of Cape Girardeau's bicentennial. Historic photographs, as well as articles about the region's past, add perspective to more recent advances.
In recent years, the Progress Edition has been distributed on three consecutive Sundays. Today's one-day distribution represents a break from that trend.
