A program featuring poetry of a Southeast Missouri State University professor will be held next Thursday on campus here.
The program, titled "Readings from Works in Progress," will highlight the work of Dale Haskell, associate professor of English. The event is being sponsored by the university's Cultural Programs Committee and is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Crisp Hall's Dempster Auditorium.
Haskell will read original poetry that he describes as "comic and easy to understand."
Haskell has has poetry published in several periodicals, including English Journal, Kentucky Poetry Review and The Rectangle. He currently is associate editor of the Cape Rock Journal, Southeast Missouri State University's literary magazine, director of the Southeast Missouri Writing Project and is involved with creative writing workshops.
The program is free and open to the public.
