PROFESSOR WRITES BOOK ON LABOR-MANAGEMENT

Labor-management relations of the early 20th century American West are examined in a new paperback book written by George G. Suggs Jr., a professor of history at Southeast Missouri State University.

The book is being published by the University of Oklahoma Press and is due to be released in September.

"Colorado's War on Militant Unionism: James H. Peabody and the Western Federation of Miners" focuses on labor problems experienced under Peabody's administration as governor of Colorado in 1903 and 1904.

Suggs is the author of "Union Busting in the Tri-State District: The Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri Metal Workers' Strike of 1935," and "Water Mills of the Missouri Ozarks," both published by the Oklahoma University Press.
