"Colorado's War on Militant Unionism: James H. Peabody and the Western Federation of Miners" focuses on labor problems experienced under Peabody's administration as governor of Colorado in 1903 and 1904.

Suggs is the author of "Union Busting in the Tri-State District: The Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri Metal Workers' Strike of 1935," and "Water Mills of the Missouri Ozarks," both published by the Oklahoma University Press.
