MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ed's Certified Meats in Marble Hill has resumed operations after addressing violations identified June 18.
State inspection resumed last week at the request of the business owner, according to a news release issued by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. As a result of the inspection, the custom exempt processing permissions for the business were reinstated, the release said.
Facilities operating under a custom processing exemption, such as Ed's Certified Meats, are not allowed to sell meat to the public. Custom exempt processing is completed for livestock owners for their own consumption, and all custom exempt packaging is specially marked, the release said.
