A free education opportunity will be offered to the public today and Friday concerning the effects of hunger and what everyone can do to help in their community.

According to a news release by the Kids Eat Right Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, presentations will be at the Scott City Nutritional Center, 105 E. Hickory St., at 10:45 a.m. today and at the Jackson Senior Citizens Center, 2690 Travelers Way, at 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Carol Morrow, a registered dietitian, will speak on how hunger can strike any household and how it can hurt children, families and communities. Participants will identify ways they can take action to help feed the hungry, the release said.
