BENTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston teen will appear in court today for a hearing in the murder case against her.

Brianna Branson, 18, is set to appear before Judge Scott T. Horman for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. She is charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and second-degree assault.

The charges stem from a July 24 incident that led to the death of Kendra Gray, 18, on the 900 block of Westview Drive. When officers arrived on the scene in the early morning hours to respond to an incident, they found Gray dead in the roadway.

Witnesses reported that Branson was driving a truck that hit Gray. She left the scene for a short time and later returned. The two were reported to have had an ongoing feud.
