A communitywide National Day of Prayer service will be held at noon Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis. A communitywide National Day of Prayer service will be held at noon Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis.

Member churches of the Cape Girardeau Ministerial Alliance have encouraged everyone to share in the observance.

The Rev. Neil L. Stein, pastor of Centenary, said the service will include the "lifting up" the nation's concerns, a remembrance of the victims' families in the Oklahoma City bombing, and prayers for healing.

A list of the names of those who lost their lives in the bombing will be provided.

Everyone attending will have an opportunity to participate in the service.

Stein said that following the service, time will be available for those who wish to stay longer and discuss national issues of concern and issues of personal faith.
