ST. LOUIS -- Nearly 12,000 St. Louis-area residents still are without power, more than three days after strong storms and tornadoes caused significant damage in the region.
Ameren officials say they expect to have most of the power restored soon. Nearly all of the outages are on the Missouri side of the metro area. Extra crews have been brought in from other states to help restore the power.
The storms Friday included two tornadoes that damaged hundreds of homes and destroyed thousands of trees. No one was seriously hurt or killed.
