Power has been restored to 763 Ameren Missouri customers in southwest Cape Girardeau who lost their electric service on Thursday afternoon.
According to Kent Martin, spokesman for Ameren Missouri, electrical power was lost at about 12:40 p.m. due to a broken insulator. Ameren Missouri repair crews had restored power to 540 customers by about 1:15 p.m., Martin said, and power to the remaining customers was restored at about 2:30 p.m.
Emergency radio traffic carried reports of a blown transformer at Doctors Park and trees were observed down on some Cape Girardeau streets early Thursday afternoon.
