The annual "Power of Women" luncheon and expo is set for March 12 at Southeast Missouri State University.
Sponsored by the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, Department of Athletics and the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the luncheon connects female students at Southeast with opportunities, women mentors and community resources, the release said. In its third year, the program highlights philanthropists, entrepreneurs and "extraordinary women of Southeast," the release said.
An expo featuring local businesses, community groups and various campus organizations starts at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., the release said. Both events will be at the Show Me Center. Community members and students are invited to attend, the release said.
Cynthia Ann Fleck, Southeast alumna, board certified wound specialist, dermatology advanced practice nurse professional and philanthropist, will give the keynote address, the release said.
Tickets for the luncheon are $25 per person, $10 for students or $150 for a table of six (table includes sponsoring two students to attend the luncheon), the release said. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for female students at Southeast, the release said. Reservations must be made by March 7, by registering online at semo.edu/powerofwomen.
