POTOSI, Mo. (AP) -- The eastern Missouri doctor convicted last month of overprescribing medication is apparently out of business, at least in Potosi.

Newspaper reports say Dr. Seth Paskon has shut down his office in Potosi, leaving a note for patients with medical problems to go to the emergency room.

On July 31st, a federal court jury in St. Louis convicted Paskon of filing false claims to Medicaid, and found that Paskon prescribed drugs outside the usual course of medical practice or without a legitimate medical purpose.
