At the March meeting of American Legion Post 158, two citations were presented to Marsha Haskell of Southwestern Bell Company for her contribution of $300 in phone cards to be given to the detachment of the 1140th Engineer Battalion now serving in Iraq. Legion member Bill Poe made a motion that the post reimburse Haskell for the cards. She declined the motion and instead a $300 donation was made to the Post 158 Memorial Scholarship fund in her name...

Gary Kamp said he received a report from the 1140th in Iraq expressing appreciation for the phone cards and support.

Other contributions to the fund reported by Jim Nelson were given by Glenn Bollinger, contributing his winnings of the post drawing in memory of his brother, Ray Bollinger; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Humes in memory of Alvin Cliningsmith; and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beussink in memory of Grace Volpert.

Commander Virgil Whitener, Charles Schultz and Byron Fluegge gave a flag program at Orchard Elementary School recently.
