The city of Portageville will hold its 49th annual National Soybean Festival next week. The theme for the week is "The Good 'Ol Days."
Events begin Saturday at 8 a.m. with a 3-mile walk-run at Meatte Park. Participants should check in between 7 and 7:45.
Soybean Festival Pageants begin at 9 a.m. Entries will be accepted in six divisions from 1 to 21 years old.
All pageants will be held at the Portageville Elementary building on King Street. Entry fees are $10 for participants up to 5 years old. For the older divisions, entry fees are $20.
A Karaoke concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Main Street. All ages can participate, but entry deadline is Friday.
Children can enter a "kiddie" parade on Tuesday. Line up begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center parking lot. The Grand Parade will be held Thursday at 7 p.m.
