POPLAR BLUFF MAN KILLED IN TWO-CAR CRASH NEAR BERNIE

BERNIE -- A Poplar Bluff man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Stoddard County.

The accident occurred at 10:25 a.m. about 10 miles west of Bernie on Route U.

Glenn Phipps, 35, of Poplar Bluff was killed in the accident. He was thrown from his vehicle when it overturned several times. He wasn't wearing a seat belt, said a spokesman for the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Raymond Rhymer, 42, of Cape Girardeau was struck by Phipps' vehicle before it overturned.

Phipps was taken to the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
