A Cape Girardeau woman asked her mother for money to buy methamphetamine, and when her mother declined, she pulled a butcher knife from some clothes, police said.
Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a warrant Saturday for Cathryn Victoria Jaco, 21, and charged her with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
She remained at large Monday. Jaco’s bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety.
Jaco was in the passenger seat while her mother was driving her car about 2 p.m. Friday in Cape Girardeau, according to a probable-cause statement filed by Cape Girardeau police officer Josiah Mehl. The victim said Jaco wanted methamphetamine, asked for money and was behaving strangely, Mehl wrote.
The victim stopped her 2003 Buick LeSabre at the intersection of Caruthers and Dunklin streets, and Jaco pulled a large butcher knife from some clothes, according to the statement.
Jaco made a jabbing motion at the victim and told her to get out of the vehicle and leave her purse, Mehl wrote. The victim immediately left the vehicle, and Jaco took her phone and threw it on the floorboard of the vehicle, according to the statement. Jaco then drove away, Mehl wrote.
