POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A Hannibal, Mo., woman was charged Monday with making terroristic threats allegedly to get out of a court appearance.

Morgen Cherie Kile, aka Morgen Cherie Yadon, 27, was charged with four counts of making a terroristic threat by Butler County assistant prosecuting attorney Paul Oesterreicher. Kile's bond was set at $150,000.

Authorities tracked Kile to Wichita, Kan., where she was arrested and subsequently extradited back to Missouri over the weekend.

"Anytime you have a crime of this nature, we're going to use every investigative tool available to us to bring the perpetuator to justice," said police chief Danny Whiteley.

The charges against Kile stem from telephone calls made Jan. 20.

At about 8:15 a.m. Jan. 20 a male subject called Holly Lawson in the Butler County circuit clerk's office stating there were four bombs in the courthouse and in several schools, Poplar Bluff police detective Corey Mitchell said in his probable-cause affidavit.

About 10 minutes later, Mitchell said, Cynthia Campbell at the Butler County Health Department received a call from a female who stated there were two bombs -- one in the courthouse and one at Poplar Bluff High School.

Through the investigation, Mitchell said, officers determined Kile to be the suspect. Officers, he said, served numerous subpoenas for telephone records, billing records and account information.

Jessie Snow, Poplar Bluff school resource officer, said officers focused on the Hannibal area and cross-referenced it with anyone on the court docket from the Hannibal area, leading them to Kile.

"It was discovered that Kile had an active felony warrant out for her arrest through the Butler County Sheriff's Department," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said officers were able to track Kile's cellular telephone to the Economy Inn in Wichita, where authorities contacted her.

The reason for the alleged threats, Mitchell said, was Kile did not have her fines and court costs paid and she knew if she showed up in court, her probation was going to be revoked and she was going to prison.

Federal authorities are reviewing the case for possible federal charges, Whiteley said.
